Historically, crude animal-derived preparations have been used to produce JE vaccines. Newer JE vaccines have recently become available, but these are beyond the financial reach of most people and governments that urgently require a safe and efficacious JE vaccine. One of the most widely used JE vaccines, in terms of number of doses administered, is a live attenuated vaccine. This vaccine has been administered to over 300 million children in Asia. Inviragen has built on this technology by reconstructing the live attenuated vaccine using modern molecular virology technology.

Our proprietary clonal virus seed of this well known vaccine ensures better process consistency in the manufacture of a pure vaccine preparation free from process contaminants, preservatives and unnecessary excipients. This modern single-shot JE vaccine can be manufactured at significantly reduced cost for the JE endemic regions of Asia. It is our goal to partner this product with a local manufacturer to provide a well defined, pure and safe JE vaccine to the JE endemic regions.
